Correct. Just consider the follow scenarios:
 1. test target (your real life scenario) still does not exists.
 2. test target is full of bugs.
 3. test target works extremely slow.
I'm not sure you would like to test your code on real life scenario
in those cases.     
Mocking can be really helpful is some cases. Mock test can be also 
combine with real test, just to avoid those problems.
